Pathology

Pathologists are medical doctors who specialize in the diagnosis of disease—especially cancer and pre-cancerous conditions. They examine all specimens removed from patients in the operating room to diagnose disease and assist the surgeons during their operations, assist oncologists with further testing of tumors to clarify treatment options, and make sure that all laboratory testing options are kept up-to-date and meet all the required regulatory and quality standards.

Our Department of Pathology is full service, providing tests for both inpatients and outpatients. We are accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the State of New York and registered with the Food and Drug Administration.

The laboratory operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week and is staffed with pathologists and a skilled mix of technologists, technicians, and lab assistants, who utilize state-of-the-art technology that provides rapid, accurate, high-quality test results.
