Radiation Oncology

The Radiation Oncology Department offers caring and comprehensive therapeutic radiation treatments for cancer. We work in close collaboration with the Medical Oncology Department to bring our patients multi-disciplinary cancer care.

Our comprehensive team of professionals consists of a board-certified radiation oncologist skilled in both standard and unique treatments, a board-certified physicist, licensed and registered radiation therapists and a certified oncology nurse.

Our program is equipped with advanced cancer-fighting innovations, including…

  • External beam radiation therapy, including 3D conformal therapy and IMRT treatments. We are also radiosurgery and HDR capable.
  • A Varian 2100 C linear accelerator that allows for multi-modalities of photon and electron treatments.
  • Independent jaw and multileaf functions for precise, computer-controlled blocking of normal tissue—an integral component of the 3D treatment program.
  • The IMPAC Record and Verify System to ensure we deliver accurate patient treatment.
  • CT-treatment planning computers that provide a virtual beam eye’s view of the patient’s unique treatment field for optimal planning.

Radiation oncology is a highly technical discipline of medicine. Although we excel at the technological aspect of care, you’ll find that we also bring warmth and compassion to you and your family during your time with us.
