The Inpatient Chemical Dependency Program
Serving Rockland, Orange and Northern Bergen Counties

If you or someone you know is suffering from alcoholism or drug abuse, Good Samaritan Hospital's Chemical Dependency Program can help. We are licensed and certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and are also accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The Good Samaritan Hospital Inpatient Chemical Dependency Program provides inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation treatment for those with substance abuse. Prior to admission, individuals will receive a comprehensive medical and psychiatric exam. Based on the findings, our specially trained staff designs a personalized recovery plan to meet your needs.

The Medical Treatment Plan includes:

  • Evaluation and treatment of withdrawal symptoms.
  • Identification of predisposing medical and psychiatric problems that may contribute to substance abuse.
  • Education of the patient regarding the disease and choices for treatment.

We realize that there are many factors to consider when treating each individual. That is why we assign a specialized team of chemical dependency professionals, including physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors and nutritionists to provide support in individual, group and family settings.

The Chemical Dependency Program includes:

  • Ongoing treatment of physical and psychological conditions during rehabilitation.
  • Individualized treatment tracks that address specific issues related to chemical dependency such as Relapse Prevention, Anger Management, Relationships and MICA (Mentall Ill Chemical Abuser).
  • Weekly family support meetings allowing visitation in a secure setting monitored by staff members.
