St. Anthony Community Hospital’s first baby of 2013 arrives January 1 in the hospital’s Kennedy Birthing Center

WARWICK, NY – She came into the world at 2:01 a.m. on January 1 thus earning the honor of being the first baby born at St. Anthony Community Hospital in 2013.

Madison De Rise, born to Michael and Jeanine De Rise of Otisville, NY weighed five pounds nine ounces and measured 18 inches.

Obstetrician during the delivery was Dr. Dominick Aro assisted by Nurse Raphella Zappulla, RN.

The National award winning Kennedy Birthing Center is a state-of-the-art maternity unit, providing many innovative options and amenities. Approximately 600 babies are born each year at the facility, which combines modern technology with a comfortable, family oriented atmosphere. With beautifully decorated, single birthing suites, the Kennedy Birthing Center was built to cater to family needs, providing homelike surroundings for a more natural labor, delivery and recovery, all in one location, during a complication-free birth process. The Center also provides a C-Section Suite, a large, cheerful nursery and several gynecological rooms.

“We love it here,” said Jeanine De Rise. “The nurses and the staff are wonderful. It’s amazing.”

St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of Bon Secours Charity Health System, is a non-profit hospital providing emergency, medical, surgical, obstetrical/gynecological acute care services to residents of southern Orange County, New York and Sussex County, New Jersey. The hospital provides comprehensive care with an emphasis on family education.  Maternity and newborn care classes on subjects such as Lamaze, parenting, infant and child safety, CPR and breastfeeding are taught by expert, certified instructors to help families prepare for pregnancy, birth and life with a new baby.
