Good Samaritan Hospital and Provident Bank Fall Golf and Tennis Classic
Raises over $275,000 for Medical Equipment Fund
Suffern, NY, October 4, 2010 – On Monday October 4th, Good Samaritan Hospital and Provident Bank partnered for the 21st annual Fall Golf and Tennis Classic that took place at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ. Co-chaired by Dr. Richard Clarkin and Gayle Hirsch, Esq., the event raised over $275,000 and all proceeds will be used to benefit the Medical Equipment Fund at Good Samaritan Hospital. Participants in this sold-out event included 211 golfers and 25 tennis players, physicians, business and community leaders.
The event underwriter was Provident Bank, the largest full-service community bank in the lower Hudson Valley. Richard Clarkin, M.D., presented a special plaque to Harold Peterson of Provident Bank in appreciation of their continued generosity, as Provident has been the event underwriter for the third year in a row.
Tennis co-chairs for the event were Robin Bergson and Diane May who were recognized for their leadership. This is the first year that both the golf and tennis tournaments were collectively sold-out.
Under the leadership of Dinner and Auction co-chairs Geanette Katz and Kathy Medici, the silent auction raised over $12,000 and with help from the10K Giveaway Raffle co-chairs Penny Mann, Samantha McCumber and Maria Scaffidi, the raffle raised over $20,000 for the event.
