same day surgery at Bon Secours Community Hospital
Bon Secours Community Hospital's newly renovated Same Day Surgery unit opened in November 2004. Our location includes eight new telemetry beds for patients. We've also added a waiting room to accommodate our patients' family and friends. The telemetry beds are equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system that continuously records and wirelessly communicates vital patient information to a central monitor and computer workstation. The monitor and receiver keep track of patients in bed and walking around. The pre-operative and post-recovery areas have been expanded to allow for greater patient comfort and include an all new "step-down" recovery area. Now you can breath easy knowing we're ready to take care of our community's surgical needs - gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology and orthopedics - to name a few.
Surgery can be difficult for loved ones as well. But Bon Secours has taken steps to take the worry out of waiting. Our new same-day surgery waiting area is located on the same floor and is dedicated to making family members comfortable; with plenty of seating, television, vending machines and a place to have a snack or read a newspaper.
