At Good Samaritan Hospital we are committed to improving the health of our community by combating tobacco use, the top cause of cancer in the nation. Quitting smoking doesn’t have to be hard. With our support and the support of your family and friends, you CAN do it! Mike Prus is on staff as a certified tobacco treatment specialist who is willing to provide personal support and consultation to anyone trying to quit. Along with our on-site services, we also work closely with the Rockland County Department of Health to provide residents of Rockland County with additional classes and support groups.
The Rockland County Department of Health utilizes proven techniques through innovative educational and supportive activities that include:

- Analyzing smoking patterns
- Using nicotine replacement products (patch, gum, lozenge)
