Meet Karen Karsif, MD, medical director of the Center for Breast Health

"Any hospital can have surgeons, radiologists and equipment. But the key is patient interaction and connection. It's fundamental to healing."

Dr. Karsif, a surgeon with 15 years of experience devoted entirely to treating breast disease, is the visionary behind Good Samaritan’s Center for Breast Health. She received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, completed her internship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and finished her surgical residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

A highly skilled physician and board certified surgeon, Dr. Karsif is known among her patients and colleagues for providing exceptional, compassionate care. In fact, the Susan G. Komen Foundation honored Dr. Karsif with the Gay Clark Stoddard Memorial Award in recognition of the level of care she brings to her patients every day.

We simply could not have found a more ideal physician to lead our Center for Breast Health. To the thousands of patients she’s treated over the years, Dr. Karsif embodies the leading-edge knowledge of medicine with humanity. It’s a combination that brings patients true comfort at some of the most stressful and trying times of their lives. She exemplifies our mission of providing good help to those in need.
