Our Comprehensive Cancer Care Approach:

Working Behind-the-Scenes for Better Cancer Care

  • The Bobbi Lewis Cancer Program team is very active in promoting and contributing to better cancer care for everyone including obtaining the latest treatment technologies (TrueBeam Linear Accelerator System,) scans and therapies.

A Multidisciplinary Cancer Committee

  • The committee meets quarterly to coordinate all cancer-related activities associated with Good Samaritan Hospital. This committee consists of physician members from a variety of medical specialties as well as non-physician members from nursing, community outreach, pharmacy, cancer registry, palliative care, hospital administration and pastoral care. We constantly strive to share information, ideas and data to make our care the very best it can be.

Twice Monthly Tumor Board/Cancer Conferences

  • Multidisciplinary attendance by physicians, nurses and support staff to discuss care of patients with cancer at Good Samaritan Hospital. We also present our staff with professional educational programs related to cancer care at these conferences.

Yearly Patient Care Studies

  • In addition to the hospital contributing to the National Cancer Database (NCDB)—the governing board responsible for national studies on patient management and outcome, the hospital conducts yearly studies for patient care. Clinical Trials – We participate in clinical trials to advance cancer care, as well as refer patients to these studies, when appropriate.
