Pretty in Pink – Girls’ Night Out Celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness
SUFFERN, NY (October 19, 2017) - Girls' Night Out, hosted by The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, was held on October 19 to raise awareness for breast cancer and celebrate survivors and friends.
This social evening served an important fundraising purpose: All proceeds will benefit The Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Hospital. The Center provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art cancer care, from screenings to survivor services.
The evening included dinner, a high-end shopping experience, mini makeovers, a silent auction, raffles and loads of fun. The program, which was hosted by News 12 reporter Rachel Spotts, featured Mary Leahy, M.D., CEO of Bon Secours Charity Health System, Karen Karsif, M.D., Medical Director of The Center for Breast Health, and breast cancer survivor Stephanie Wander. Comedian Robin Fox brought on laughs!
"October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is an ideal time for our community to come together to support local access to state-of-the-art healthcare," said Dr. Karsif. "Breast health is every woman's concern. The more we all know about breast disease, the better prepared we are to achieve optimal health."
