The Infusion Center at Good Samaritan Hospital: Comprehensive and Compassionate Care, Close to Home
This state-of-the-art unit is
designed to accommodate adult and pediatric patients for an individualized infusion treatment
program. The Center includes an eight-chair suite, complete with a privacy room. It is staffed with
chemotherapy and biotherapy registered nurses with flexible treatment days and hours.
Ongoing patient monitoring and reassessment activities determine responsiveness to treatment,
minimize drug complications and adverse reactions and increase patient compliance.
The Infusion Center team works in partnership with healthcare professionals to adjust medication
orders, if necessary. The team also provides first dose IV infusions prior to home care. The following
are some of the infusion therapies the Center provides:
- Remicade and other disease state modifier agents
- Chemotherapy
- IV hydration
- Steroid therapy
- Antibiotics
- Iron infusions
- Injections
- Blood transfusions
The clinical care team consists of registered nurses, referring physicians and clinical pharmacists
who work collaboratively to provide patients with compassionate, efficient and reliable care. As a
result, patients experience excellent coordination of care, reduced adverse events, lower costs and
comprehensive monitoring of their medical treatment.
